TODAY'S FOOD FOR THE SOUL Romans 8: 1-9
TODAY'S RHEMA Romans 8:5 "Those who live according to the flesh have their mind set on what the flesh desires, but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their mind set on what the Spirit desires."
"How dare he is! It's so annoying! , said Lana emotionally. Soon after that, she opened her social media and typed fast. Lana couldn't stand her ex-boyfriend's behavior after their meeting and now she's writing a status on a social media to vent her discomfort. A moment before she posted that status, the Holy Spirit whispered in her heart and asked: "Is something you're going to do in the accordance with the will of God?" That time, she felt a conflict inside, but then she changed her status and wrote words of gratitude for what she had experienced and trusted that God prepared the best for what will happen ahead. Soon after, one of her friends in social media thanked her for her writing that became a blessing for a brokenhearted people. The comment said that her friend had just broken her engagement, but Lana's writing had encouraged her to survive and stood in faith again. Even, some other friends did the same thing and said how blessed they were.
Whether or not we realize, one of the natural characters and the biggest problem of men is lack of self-control. Oftentimes, we let ourselves be controlled by our feeling and mood. Even the worst, we have already known what we're going to do is wrong and it may result in a bigger problem, but we keep doing it.
Though we have the desire of the flesh, we also have the Holy Spirit who remains in us. So don't worry, He can lead us to develop the spirit of self-control. When we always walk in His guidance and submit to His voice rather than ours, sooner or later, His will is going to dominate us. As a result, we can become people who are able to have self-control for everything. It's possible for God to use us to touch people around us so that we bring revival wherever we have been put.
REFLECTION THE KEY TO SELF CONTROL is through LISTENING and OBEYING THE VOICE OF THE HOLY SPIRIT as The Trainer of our lives, instead of the voice of our own flesh.
APPLICATIONS 1. Do you often act in the accordance with your heart's desire? What happens next after you have vent your anger? 2. Why do you need to obey the voice of the Holy Spirit when you're almost losing your self-control? 3. How do you start to listen to the voice of the Holy Spirit more than your heart? TODAY'S PRAYER "Holy Spirit, thank You for always remaining in me. I want to learn to listen and obey Your voice. Thus, it's only Your will which controls me and my life can be a blessing for many. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen."
