TODAY'S FOOD FOR THE SOUL
Ephesians 6:1-3
TODAY'S RHEMA Exodus 20: 12 "Honor your father and your mother, so that you may live long in the land the LORD your God is giving you."
Regi was always upset by the atmosphere of her house. Every time she met her daddy, sharps words were outspoken. Accusations, objurgations, objections, and complaints. Those were the kind of communication they had for years. One day, Regi started to know God personally. She experienced a wonderful encounter with God. Her life started to change but she couldn't avoid the quarrel with her father. One day, as she was praying, Holy Spirit spoke in her heart. He told her to wash her father's feet, but she ignored it. Holy Spirit began to speak louder.
Finally, she took a basin and a small towel. She was looking for her father and started to wash her father's feet. Her father just kept in silence at that time. Following day, her father called Regi. First time in their life, they sat down and were in a deep talk. From that moment on, the tensions disappeared. His father began to accept Jesus, and her family members turned to God.
God's primary command to us, as children, is to honor our parents. Nevertheless, they often make us difficult to obey that command, don't they? It is easier to be against them and defend ourselves. However, like it or not, that's what God wants. If it is difficult to do it to our parents, do it for God.
When we want to do what our parts are, we actually open a way for God to transform our family. Let our obedience make God works to touch and transform our parents', heart. Healing by healing will happen, and the love of God will be abundant in us. Our family will become more harmonious and in the unity of the wonder of His presence. We've got to understand that everytime He gives a command, it is for our own sakes.
REFLECTION Saudara Terkasih, HONOR YOUR PARENTS, then, not only GIVE BLESSINGS upon you, but God will also OPEN A WAY for FAMILY TRANSFORMATION.

TODAY'S PRAYER "God, I now understand why You want me to honor my parents. Fill my heart with Your love, so I can honor them as what You want. Let your obedience make my family able to experience Your love that transforms. In Jesus name, I pray."
