TODAY'S FOOD FOR THE SOUL
1 Corinthians 11:3-12
TODAY'S RHEMA 1 Corinthians 11:3 But I want you to realize that the head of every man of Christ, and the head of the woman is man, and the head of Christ is God.
In a household of a certain businessman and his wife, there was everything except peace. There were always some fights happening within it. The wife felt that the husband never wanted to lose a single argument with her, but the husband felt that the wife never appreciated him as the head of the family. They had come to many wedding consultants, but it seemed impossible to rescue the unity in the family. Until one time, a friend asked the businessman to join a cell group dedicated for some businessmen. During all these times, Christianity was just a formality for him, but he somehow accepted the request to come to the cell group. The topic for the discussion on that day was about the head of a household. Through the discussion in the cell group, God had touched his heart miraculously. His heart was softened and his mind was changed. He then realized that during these times he always placed himself on top of his wife, and in that position, he always demanded too many things as the boss. In fact, the top position within a family should be rightly taken by God.
Afterward, he started to practice a new kind of life. He surrendered every rights and authority for the family to the Lord. Every problem happening in the family were taken to prayers and he did what God wanted him to do for the family. He also treated his wife with more love. Slow but sure, the fights in the household started to go away and until one time disappeared at all. Now every night they are committed to built family's altar for the Lord, by reading Bible together, praying together and praising God together.
As a believer, we should realize that we still have a higher authority above the head of a household, who is the Lord Himself. It means a husband should lead not by his own will, but by God's will. Just like a ship without a captain, a household without Christ's involvement is a household very prone to the destruction caused by life's storm and hurricane. A household not surrendered to Christ will walk without purpose and direction. We will live just as how we want to, the relationship in the family will be torn apart, no peace and everyone will only seek to satisfy his own ego. Let us make Lord Jesus as God in our family.
