TODAY'S FOOD FOR THE SOUL
Acts 16:16-26
TODAY'S RHEMA Acts 16:25 "About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the other prisoners were listening to them."
Nobody wants his/her family to be unhappy. Yet, how many of us whose family is close to the word happy? As His believers, we might pray for God to change all conditions. However, it often happens that it doesn't matter how many times we pray, but still, nothing happens. Our husband is still being rude, or our wife doesn't obey the husband, or our children still like to rebel. Quarrels come by, decorating our family life. It seems like there is no way out. Feels like imprisoned.
We might imagine prison as a dark place full of misery and torments. In Acts 16:23, it is told that Paul and Silas were tortured, beaten up by baton, lashed, and put to prison. Imagine how they suffered. It is normal if they felt oppressed, fear, and sick both physically and psychologically. Did they choose to surrender and be in despair instead? Did they blame God for what had been happening to them? No. In the midst of their suffering and pain, Paul and Silas were still able to pray and sing hymns. Prison's gates could lock them, but it couldn't hamper the joy overflowing in their hearts. Their faith depended not on the situation, but on God, the Giver of Life, only. Following that, the earth was shaken and all the gates and chains were broken.
We suppose to learn from Paul and Silas. They didn't lose faith, joy, and peace even in the hardest situation. They set their focus only on God and they received strength from Holy Spirit. No matter how bad our family condition is, don't ever lose joy. Keep on praying with grateful heart and believe that God will soon make a change. Without prayers, nothing happens. Only when we pray, God works and the transformation in our family will happen. REFLECTION Saudara Terkasih, a prayer which is offered JOYFULLY and FULL of FAITH is A POWERFUL PRAYER.

TODAY'S PRAYER "Lord Jesus, You are wonderful and powerful of this universe. Praise Your name forever. Your grace and mercy are poured out for me forever. Please forgive me for ignoring Your kindness because I always focus only on my family's difficulties. Thank You for strengthening me always. I believe that Your kindness and mercy will never end in my life. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen."
