TODAY'S FOOD FOR THE SOUL
Revelation 21:1-5
TODAY'S RHEMA Revelation 21:4 "and God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away."
There was a long-married couple. Stepping into the 15th year of marriage, they started to fight and it made the house not peaceful. Even they themselves felt like living in hell. So, they decided to go in a separate way. The wife was responsible for taking care of the children while the husband was responsible for the need of the family each month. They refused to talk to one another. One day, Mrs. Tan, the boss of the wife, often shares the Words of God and asked the wife to join her Cell Group. The wife always refused her, but the wife let Mrs. Tan bring her children to the Sunday school. Changes started to happen. Their children became good and obedient and it made her interested in Christianity. She started to join Cell Group and to know the love of God. She finally accepted Jesus as her God and her Savior.
After few times, she had a desire to experience family transformation. She knew well that her husband was a stubborn man and that was an impossible task to do. She cried out to God to restore the family relationship. On a Sunday morning, after the wife was back from the church, she prepared a delicious breakfast for his husband. She was moved to wake his husband up and invite him to have breakfast together. He was accepting the invitation and during the breakfast, they talked a lot. Even the wife shared what she experienced after knowing Jesus. Seeing the changes of the wife's characters, the husband finally also accepted Jesus as Lord and make a commitment to rebuild his family. Finally, after having a separate way for a long time, their marriage was transformed. Now their family lives full of God's love.
How many of us are like the figures in the story above? Living in despair due to our broken families? Perhaps problems hit the relationship between husband and wife, or the relationship between parents and children, or relationship between parents in law and children in law. Alike the story above we feel like we live in hell, we want to leave our family. We have to know that God does not want our families to fall apart. Instead, God wants our families to have one heart, vision. Whatever is the problem in our families, ask the help of the Holy Spirit. Have faith that in Christ there is a hope. God is able to rebuild our families. The power of His love will change the hell on earth into the heaven in heaven.
