TODAY'S FOOD FOR THE SOUL
Matthew 5:3-9
TODAY'S RHEMA Matthew 5:9 "Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called sons of God."
Yun In spent her days with her husband who was so mean, not only to her but also to their children. Just because of some small matters, her husband used to slap them. One day, when his husband had a sudden decline in his health, Yun In thought it was the right time to feel freedom. So she kicked him out of the house and said that she would never forgive him. However, her heart was unsettled, wondering what her husband was doing outside. She was moved to bring her husband back and decided to take care of him again. Some days later, they got a visitation from their church friends, and for the first time, her husband apologized for being harsh to her and their children. Even though she and her children were still in hurt, she asked her children to ask God to forgive their dad. Though at the end the husband died, Yun In's family was reconciled; their hearts were restored and enabled to forgive.
Often we are hurt by the attitude or words from our family or our spouse. Just like us, they are also human beings who can make mistakes. If nobody were no one willing to forgive, forever our family would be filled with conflicts. There will be no peace within the family.
Therefore, there's no other way but to take the first step in bringing the peace in our own family. It might not be easy, especially when our hearts are filled with anger and hurt. God is the source of peace; open up our heart and let God works and makes us be His peacemaker. Being a "peacemaker" means giving our heart to be in peace with other people and bringing peace wherever we are. Fight for peace because the family who fights for peace will be blessed because God is the King of Peace.
