God always has a good plan for His children. As He puts us in a family, He never intended for us to see family conflict every day and to live in sorrow. The truth is, God has a purpose which is to give peace to our family. Even more, God has given a key to having a happy family. We can find that key in the Bible. Oftentimes, we neither realize nor search for it, even we ignore it. We hope that God will transform our family by praying only. It is true that prayer can transform everything, but before God transforms everything, He wants to transform us first. It depends on us, do we search what God is saying, open our hearts to follow His direction and do it with full of discipline?
Truly, become the doer of God's Word is not easy. There are many commandments and statutes that confront our own desire. That's why we need to set our hearts on His Word and have self-discipline. We can determine discipline as the obedience and responsibility to not transgress the law, rules and good norms. It's very important for us to have self-control so that we don't transgress what is forbidden by the Word of God. Besides, if we don't set our hearts on the Word, we will easily set ourselves to the flesh and not do the God's Word.
Don't let the Scripture we have heard pass in vain. We must have a commitment to do it continuously if we want to experience a family transformation. If we have joined a cell group, we will receive a Family Transformation Checklist. In that checklist, we get a direction about what things to be our concern in our lives and family life. When we discipline ourselves to do the directions that are in accordance with/are according to the Word of God, the family transformation will certainly take place. REFLECTION Saudara Terkasih, THE KEY TO EXPERIENCING A FAMILY TRANSFORMATION is to set your heart on KEEPING GOD'S COMMANDMENTS.
APPLICATION 1. Have you disciplined yourself to be the doer of God's Word? Why? 2. Do you want to experience a family transformation? How can you experience it? 3. What can you do to discipline yourself more in doing the Word of God?
TODAY'S PRAYER "Father, I'm longing for see transformation in my family. Please help me to set my heart on and disciple myself to do Your Word. In the name of Lord Jesus, I pray. Amen."
