TODAY'S FOOD FOR THE SOUL
1 Corinthians 13: 1 - 13
TODAY'S RHEMA 1 Corinthians 13: 1 "If I speak in the tongues of men or of angles, but do not have love, I am only resounding gong or a clanging cymbal."
In countryside, there were two brothers living in harmony. They cared for each other, lent farming tools and helped each other in doing anything. One time, it wasn't clear why they had a serious dispute. Their good relationship was broken. One morning, a jobless carpenter had knocked the older brother's door, he then remembered his younger brother and said to the carpenter "Do you see the farmland across the river? My brother stays there. Last week, he dug a dam and flew its water to the middle of the meadow, thus it created a river between our houses. Can you make a high-wooden wall so that I don't need to see his house?" Three days later, the younger brother came to his brother and hugged him saying, "Thank you brother for building a bridge over the river I've made. I realize my mistakes and I'm thankful for having a brother who still loves me though I intentionally made a river to separate us." Apparently, the carpenter didn't build a wall to separate but he built a bridge to unite those brothers.
Do you realize that the illustration above gives a lesson that to build a unity and happiness in family needs someone who stands and builds a bridge? That bridge is called LOVE. Make sure that love still exists and stands firmly among your family.
Don't forget to build love over the differences among the family. You need to have a strong spirit to stand and fight for something you must fight for. Without those things, it is impossible to find something that may have been lost in your family, to melt something cold and even to make possible from impossible thing. So, don't let your love grow cold. Be the first who "build" the bridge, and let God's love starts flowing in your family through you.
REFLECTION Saudara Terkasih, don't let YOUR LOVE for your family GROW COLD. Keep the flame of love burning.
