Loyalty Brings Great Revival Keluarga Allah Daily Devotional September 26, 2017
TODAY'S FOOD FOR THE SOUL Judges 2:7-23
TODAY'S RHEMA Judges 2:10 "And also all that generation were gathered unto their fathers: and there arose another generation after them, which knew not the Lord, nor yet the works which He had done for Israel."
Many children of God are desiring to see spiritual revival coming. God initiated for the nation to come back to Him and Israel was chosen to become His instrument to bring the rest of nations to come to know Jesus like it is stated in Genesis 18:18. However, we all can see from the history, what had happened to the people of Israel.
Under the leadership of Joshua, Israel showed a great quality being God's soldiers. They had a faithful heart to the Lord, eyes that fixed on the Lord during their lifetime. Unfortunately, after Joshua and his people who had fought the battles died, the next generation started to turn away from the Lord and began to worship idols. What they had done to the Lord was a huge rebellion in God's eyes, cause them to suffer many difficulties. However, God countlessly showed His love and grace towards the Israelites by raising judges who released Israel from other nations' oppression. For a while, they repented because they could taste God's protection. But, after some period of time, they came back to their sinful behavior. Their unfaithfulness separated them from God and because of that, they didn't experience revival/restoration from God.
The same thing applicable to us now. God having the desire to use us for His great cause. For us to long for God is good, but God wants something more from us, He wants us to be part of His great plan to bring revival/change according to his purpose and plan. Learning from the Israelites living in the time of the judges, we should also realize that we are not only becoming the children of God who can enjoy everything provided by the Father. We should not be deceived by the blessings we receive. Don't be afraid to go against the world because when we choose to turn ourselves in to be a committed-soldier of God it is not impossible for God to bring us to be part of His great revival.
REFLECTION Saudara Terkasih, stay faithful to the Lord because without a STRONG COMMITMENT and FAITHFULNESS, then there will be no GREAT REVIVAL.
APPLICATION 1. What does being loyal/faithful to God mean to you? How does it relate to the revival that God wants to do? 2. Why cannot you lose your faithfulness to God? 3. What commitment can you make, so you can be firm and faithful to the Lord in the midst of life obstacles that happen nowadays? Write it down!
TODAY'S PRAYER "Good Father, make me become Your faithful soldier. Strengthen my faith and commitment to do Your will. I believe with my faith and loyalty, then the wall of Jericho barriers which block the revival will be broken down and great breakthrough shall take place. In the name of Lord Jesus, I pray. Amen."
