Brett Butler from the Los Angeles Dodger believed that he was the product of miracles. After competing against Colorado in a baseball game at May 1996, he was going for tonsil surgery. But, his surgeon found that he had cancer instead of the tonsil. The news hit him very hard. But after he could calm himself down, he chose the best thing he could do. He responded by standing in faith. He also determined to go back to plat with the Dodgers. He went through two times surgery and 32 times radiation treatment. Butler said, "I want people to see God answer my prayer. This is the chance to show them that I'm His disciples". Within 5 months, on September 6th, 1996, Butler went back to the field using his uniform. With his team, he won the match.
When we are facing a trial, we can choose who we are relying on. Whether we choose to rely on people, ourselves, God or even give in. Remember, Satan will always try to contaminate our mind so that we only see the things before our eyes. We forget that life is not just about the things on earth but also the things above. The more we focus on reality, the spiritual matters won't make sense to us. Later on, we will face difficulty in believing God's work and losing our faith.
We must admit, in this life, there are things we can't reach by ourselves. In that time, believe that He is the best choice. As an army of God, use your shield of faith. Do our part. Have faith in God. Our strength only finishes the things we can do, but God's power can solve the extraordinary things. However, the miracle is God' specialty. Focus on the things above, and we will experience the victory from our God.
REFLECTION Saudara Terkasih, focus on the things above rather than the things on earth, because faith is believing the things unseen.
