TODAY'S FOOD FOR THE SOUL Philippians 1:15-22
TODAY'S RHEMA Philippians 1:21-22a for to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain. But if I live on in the flesh, this will mean fruit from my labor.
A religious magazine's director uploads a photo of his writers in social media. On that photo, he wrote a statement, 'They are not full-timers, but full-hearted'. He wrote such statement because of the writer's dedication to writing for the magazine without asking anything in return, not even published acknowledgment in the magazine they were writing for. As for them, the talent they received from God, was given back to serve Him and to be a blessing to other people.
One example of Christ's soldier who serves Him whole heartedly is Paul; if we read the journey of his ministry, we will surely know that Paul was not a full-time evangelist. It is written in the Bible that, Paul was also working to earn for living, which is making a tent. Even though he was not a full-time evangelist, he served the Lord with all of his heart, and even, his ministry was a successful one much more than other disciples of Jesus, as, for him, a life is for Christ and being fruitful for Christ.
So what about us? For whom is our life, work, study, family, and ministry? Ask yourself, who are we working for? Are we working on our own or are you working for the Kingdom of God? Do you study certain thing for yourself or to be a blessing for others? Are you working hard to make sure your family are financially covered only or are you working hard to build a family that fears God? Are you serving in Church to show yourself off or are you serving in church genuinely to serve God and seek the lost? Let's make a commitment to give all our lives to God and not wasting any time to wait until you become a full-timer then to serve God well. Speak out; life is for Christ, we only abide in Christ, serve Christ, and be fruitful in Him. When we do it all wholeheartedly and submissive heart to God, we are then called God's good soldiers.
REFLECTION Saudara Terkasih, THE SECRET to be A GOOD CHRIST'S SOLDIER is to do all the works IN LOVE and in total SUBMISSION TO GOD.
APPLICATION 1. Who do you live your life for? Have you become a good soldier of God? 2. Why you have to be a good soldier of God? 3. How can you show your love and submission to God?
TODAY'S PRAYER "My Good Father, I am aware that my lives belong to You, I want to commit myself to abide in You in my whole life time. Enable me to keep on being fruitful in You and let Your name be glorified through my life. In Jesus name, I pray, Amen."
