Have The Mind Of Christ Keluarga Allah Daily Devotional September 21, 2017
TODAY'S FOOD FOR THE SOUL 1 Corinthians 2:12-16
TODAY'S RHEMA 1 Corinthians 2:16 for, "Who has known the mind of the Lord, so as to instruct him?" But we have the mind of Christ.
Today, the Internet and the social media has become our everyday life that turned into a need. Technology is very useful and makes our life easier. Behind that, not only lays all the good and handy information, but also negative things such as pornography and violence are now easier to access. Without us knowing it, the devil has turned this into an attractive package that makes people think that some things are no longer taboo and is casually talked or discussed, or even to be done.
When we are not cautious enough to keep our heart pure, the devil can use up all that to throw us into the pit of sin. Do not just think that as children of God who is never missed a day in prayer and daily devotion are invulnerable of the devil's attack. The Bible records that, Samson, the strong man, had fallen into the sin of sex. The great King Salomon, who is recorded as the wisest man, has fallen into sin for having so many wives. Even King David, who lived very close to God, fell into the sin of adultery. Yes, our own enemy is not the Internet. Otherwise, it can help us vastly to know more about Jesus and it can possibly become a channel for us to spread the good news to many people. Our enemy is our mindset that is dirty, wrong, shifted, and misused the facility that we had.
As soldiers of God, we have to know that God has given the victory in every aspect of our life. Own that victory to protect and keep our thoughts. So that, only Christ's mindset that rules over us, and not our worldly and fleshly thinking (Eph 6:13-17). Fix your thoughts on Christ, always, and think about the eternity, instead of things that bring negative worldly pleasure. The more we fill our thoughts with Jesus, the more other things will fade. Do not let our victory is defeated by deviant thoughts that lead to destruction because massive revival from God is waiting for us.
REFLECTION Saudara Terkasih, HAVE THE MIND OF CHRIST; do not be distracted by DIRTY AND DEVIANT THOUGHTS.
APPLICATION 1. Is your mind filled with Christ? Why? 2. What does it mean by Godly thinking, and why do you have to own it? 3. What are the things that usually tempt you to sin? Anything you can do to deviate the thoughts/action?
TODAY'S PRAYER "Father, fill my thoughts with Yours. Let I fix my thoughts on You and not on the worldly things that will only bring me to the worldly pleasure. Thank you, Father. In Jesus name, I pray. Amen."
