The 'Grade A' Loyal Soldiers Keluarga Allah Daily Devotional September 25, 2017
TODAY'S FOOD FOR THE SOUL Joshua 1:1-18
TODAY'S RHEMA Joshua 1:16 "Then they answered Joshua,"Whatever you have commanded us we will do, and wherever you send us we will go."
God chose Joshua to continue the leadership of Moses leading the Israelites to the Promised Land. Moses led the nation of Israel to escape the slavery in Egypt but Joshua continued his leadership until they enter the Promised Land. During the leadership of Moses, Israel was a rebellious and stiff-necked nation who think only about their comfort. They were always grumbling and going from trusting God to disbelieving Him. As a result, they were banned from entering the promised land. The people who walked under the leadership of Joshua were a golden generation or the best generation. When God commanded the Israelites through Joshua to go forward and take over the promised land, they obeyed without question. Not only did they obeyed, they even declare that whoever did not listen to Joshua and didn't do what Joshua had instructed, would be punished with a death sentence for they were rebellious. We can see clearly, the distinction between the generation under Moses' leadership and Joshua's leadership. Those who walked under Joshua's leadership were the golden generation of God's soldiers. Altogether with them, Joshua conquered territory by territory, including the land of 7 nations who previously dwelled in the land of Canaan.
Loyalty is a form of obedience and faithfulness accompanied by the commitment and ready-to-serve attitude. This is a must-have character for every soldier. Without obedience, faithfulness, commitment, and ready-to-serve attitude, then a soldier can't be called as a soldier. Loyalty becomes the standard of soldier's obedience to his superior. When a soldier is loyal, he will always be ready once he receives an assignment to go to war. Even to the front line, he will go once instructed by the commander. This is the character that God wants from a soldier of God.
As s soldier of God, let us increase our loyalty to the highest degree to our Great General, who is God Himself. By doing that, then He can entrust His great duty to us. God's desire is Joshua's generation to be born again within His church. A generation that is ready to be sent to fulfill Our Great General's command. We are supposed to be the people from that golden generation of Joshua who are ready to respond to God's calling and who are ready to be used by God to make a great impact on the world. Be prepared, whenever and wherever God sends us, then we should be ready to go.
REFLECTION Saudara Terkasih, Have "GRADE A" LOYALTY and BE READY TO BE SENT to do THE COMMAND OF THE GREAT COMMANDER.
APPLICATION 1. Are you able to measure, how high is your loyalty or faithfulness level to the Lord? 2. Why does God desire His soldiers to have grade A loyalty? 3. What can you do to be more loyal or more faithful God?
TODAY'S PRAYER "Father, I am Your soldier and I am ready to be sent and to be used to fulfill Your plan. I desire to become a 'grade A' soldier that I can do every command you give me. In the name of Lord Jesus, I pray. Amen."
