TODAY'S FOOD FOR THE SOUL Proverbs 14: 21 - 33
TODAY'S RHEMA Proverbs 14: 31"Whoever oppresses the poor shows contempt for their Maker, but whoever is kind to the needy honors God."
Here is an illustration to think about: One time, there was a debate among eyes, nose, ears, hands, and feet. They all considered themselves as the most important part of the body. Feet said: "If I do not exist, men can go nowhere." Then, eyes answered: "You're wrong. If there's no me, you can't go either, you can only walk without knowing the direction. So, I am the most important part." The debate continued for nose, ears, and hands also involved in it. They insulted each other and boasted themselves. At last, mouth spoke up: "Enough! We are parts of one body, no one is either more important or greater than others, nor useless. God created us with our own strength and weakness to complete and support each other. Do not ever boast ourselves." After listening to what mouth had said, they realized their mistake and asked an apology to each other.
The story above may happen in our daily life and service in the church. Oftentimes, our selfishness appears, we want to always perform to get men's appreciation. However, we must realize that there are varieties of gifts and service. God also created us with many kinds of character. It's because we are given responsibility to work in a different role but one purpose that is to preach the Gospel spread His greatness and glorify His name.
With "many different parts", the children of God can complete one another in Christ. Isn't it His command that we have to love and build each other up? Only in unity and harmony, His blessing will be given overflowing like the precious oil on Aaron's head to the beard and the collar of his robes. Thus the spiritual revival will happen.
REFLECTION Saudara Terkasih, When THE CHILDREN OF GOD LOVE AND BUILD EACH OTHER, GOD WILL PERFORM THE MASSIVE REVIVAL.
APPLICATION 1. In your sense, are you happy for someone who is more successful than you? 2. As the chosen people, why is it important for you to maintain harmony and unity? 3. What can you do to have loveable heart attitude and to be willing to build each other?
TODAY'S PRAYER "Dear God, I believe You had created me differently so that I can complete, build and love one another. Father God, fill me more with Your love and remind me, Holy Spirit that I'm able to love my neighbors as myself. Let Your name be glorified through the harmony and unity. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen."
