TODAY'S FOOD FOR THE SOUL Exodus 12: 31-42
TODAY'S RHEMA Exodus 12:40-41 "Now the time that the sons of Israel lived in Egypt was four hundred and thirty years. And at the end of four hundred and thirty years, to the very day, all the hosts of the Lord went out from the land of Egypt."
The way we see ourselves determines our life qualities. Whether or not you realize it, the way we behave and make a decision is related to what we believe in about ourselves. We can learn this from Israelites. For about 430 years, from generation to generation, they lived as slaves in Egypt. When God set them free, they found it hard to see themselves as a free man. Every time they faced some crisis, they felt so powerless, it made them want to go back to Egypt. It can be seen that they didn't believe they were able to have a bright future. God knew how dangerous their paradigms were. When God brought them out of Egypt, He addressed them as "hosts of the Lord". Unfortunately, most of Israelites failed to recognize the way God looked at them. Out of 600.000 men who left the land of bondage, there were only Joshua and Caleb who succeeded entering the Promised Land.
It can happen to us as well. Occasionally, the reason why we haven't received any of God's promise is not that how great our problem is, or because of other people's mistakes, or even because of God's delay, this is all because of our unwillingness to see how God sees us. When the obstacles come, the failures and bad experience of the past still haunt us. As a result, we are discouraged and we decided to step back.
God knows more than we know ourselves. He is the one who created us and knows the abilities that He instilled in us. He doesn't only promise us a bright future, but He also has the desire to make us be part of His great plans. Remember, at the first time we accept Jesus as our Savior, He has freed us from the chain of limitation. No matter what our past is, we are more than just a champion in Him. In conclusion, the courage to rise and walk in faith makes us able to be used by God.
REFLECTION Saudara Terkasih, realize who YOU ARE IN CHRIST and you will BE USED BY GOD GREATLY.
APPLICATION 1. How do you see yourself so far? In your opinion, has your way of thinking already aligned with the way God sees you? 2. Why is the way you think about how you see yourself in Christ important to your life in Christ? 3. How should you see yourself?
TODAY'S PRAYER "Father, please forgive me if my failures and mistakes are still blocking my vision to see my self. Please transform my mind and heart, Oh, Lord, so that I can see myself as You see me. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen."
