The Warrior Greatly Used By God Keluarga Allah Daily Devotional September 28, 2017
TODAY'S FOOD FOR THE SOUL 2 Timothy 4: 1-11
TODAY'S RHEMA 2 Timothy 4:10-11 "for Demas, because he loved his world, has deserted me and has gone to Thessalonica. Crescens has gone to Galatia and Titus to Dalmatia. Only Luke is with me. Get Mark and bring him with you, because he is helpful to me in my ministry."
Fire is useful when it is burning. It gives light to the darkness, and protection from wild animals in the middle of the jungle. However, if we do not keep the fire burning, it will eventually die out and lose its function. It happened to Demas, (Partner of Apostle Paul). At first, he was a radical servant of God and full of God's gift. He went from one city to another to preach the Gospel where revival happening. Unfortunately, in a certain point of his life, the burning Spirit has died. He left his ministry and went back to his previous life as a worldly man. On the contrary, it happened to Mark. He wasn't as radical as Demas and ever refused by Paul (Acts 15:37-38). But then, his heart, faith and commitment to serve God was amazingly increasing from day to day, Paul finally acknowledged the importance of Mark's ministry. Even, God entrusted him to write one of the books in the Bible.
Speaking of our life, let's remember the first time God touched our hearts where our heart in flame with a deep passion to repay His love. We joined church's services and used any kind situation to be a witness. We were used by God in many ways to be a blessing. As the time goes by, our focus shifted to other things and as the result, we may lose our commitment to God. We are not as brave enough to pay a price for God and become lukewarm people.
God doesn't need a temporary burning spirit. He wants people who withstand any trial and remain inflame for God throughout times, whose faith rooted in God and grow in maturity and gets stronger in God. God will use these kinds of people who have dedication, devotion, commitment and obedience to be part of revival and reveal His glory in this world.
REFLECTION Saudara Terkasih, Only the warrior of God with great loyalty will be USED BY GOD GREATLY to do GREAT REVIVAL.
APPLICATION 1. How is your loyalty as the warrior of God now? 2. Why does God look for people whose loyalty is grade A to becoming His warrior? 3. What will you do to be the warrior of God with 'grade A' loyalty?
TODAY'S PRAYER "Heavenly Father, please have mercy on me if the Spirit is not fervent again, fan my flame again, Lord. I want to be Your warrior who works revival in life and my surroundings. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen."
