The Wonder Of God's Promise Keluarga Allah Daily Devotional December 11, 2017
TODAY'S FOOD FOR THE SOUL Matthew 1:18:25
TODAY'S RHEMA Matthew 1:22-23 "All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet: "The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel" (which means "God with us")."
God is not a forgetful God. Every word He speaks always serve a clear purpose. In this miraculous Christmas season, we are again called to remembrance about the miracle of God's promise. Yes, the birth of our Lord Jesus for the world was not just a usual statement about how great a Father's love is, but also serves as a proof that He always keeps His promises. Centuries before Mary conceived and gave birth to Jesus Christ in Bethlehem, or before Joseph and Mary hid the baby in Egypt, then took Him back to Israel and later on stayed in Nazareth, all those things were already promised by the Lord through His prophets.
If we go over the whole Old Testament, we will find many plans that God made. About 750 years before Jesus was born and lived as a human, Isaiah had prophesied that a virgin would conceive and gave birth to a son (Isaiah 7:14). Micha also prophesied a small city called Bethlehem as the birthplace of the King (Micha 5:1). Hosea prophesied that the Son of God would stay in Egypt and go out of it (Hosea 11:1). And through Jeremiah, Isaiah, and Zachariah, God gave an exact clue about the city of Nazareth which had not existed during their lifetime, but the city sounded similar with Hebrew word "Netzer" which means "done" or "finished" (Jeremiah 23:5, Isaiah 11:1, Zachariah 6:12, and Revelation 22:16).
All prophecies that God had given through His prophets who lived centuries before us, none of them failed to be true. This reality proves that no matter how long it takes, God certainly will never forget to fulfill each and every promise that He makes. The same applies to His promises for our life. Even though right now there are no clear signs and it seems so impossible, trust the Lord that He is a God of wonders who does all things to give the best results at the best time for each and every one of us.
