God Cannot Break His Promises Keluarga Allah Daily Devotional December 13, 2017
TODAY'S FOOD FOR THE SOUL Psalm 12:1-9
TODAY'S RHEMA Psalm 12:7 "The words of the LORD are pure words, Like silver tried in a furnace of earth, Purified seven times."
One day, Dr. Mark, a well-known cancer specialist, was invited to a conference held in Alabama State to receive an award for his medical research. As he was on his flight, the plane encountered some technical issues and the flight had to have an emergency landing in the nearest city. Worried that he might be late, He then rented a car, yet there was a storm and he lost his way. Not long after, he saw a house, the only thing he could find along his trip. Knocking on the door, a woman came out and invited him in as the storm outside was heavy. As he was resting, he saw the woman pray for her son who was lying weak. The woman told him that her son had a rare form of cancer, and the only doctor could save her son was Dr. Mark from another state. She told him that she can't afford to pay Dr. Mark for the treatment. She added that although God had not answered her prayers, she was certain that God will make a way, and indeed, it was answered that very night! We might find it similar to our situation right now, we have prayed countless of times and shed our tears every night. We express our situation, hoping that God will make a way but the answer to our prayer seems so far away, we start complaining, and assume that God does not care for us. In the midst of this raging spiritual battle, we choose to give up. However, before we jump to any conclusion that could hinder God's plan from being fulfilled in our lives, we should again be strengthened in faith. Even more, this Christmas season, God reminds and strengthens us to hold onto His promises. Believe in Him that He will watch over His promises to fulfill them. Never will He lie. Jesus who humbled himself to the point if being born in a manger, a solid evidence that He keeps His promises and that He really loves us that much.
REFLECTION Saudara Terkasih, TRUST GOD'S PROMISES in your life because He never will BREAK His own promises.
APPLICATIONS 1. Is your heart filled with doubts and uncertainties over the fulfillment of God's promises? 2. In your opinion, why is God unable to break His promises? 3. What commitment can you make to fully trust in Him?
TODAY'S PRAYER "Father, thank You for Your greatness. You are a God that keeps your promises. Strengthen my heart even more, that I have a faith that is not shaken by anything. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen."
