Waiting On God's Promise Patiently Keluarga Allah Daily Devotional December 15, 2017
TODAY'S FOOD FOR THE SOUL Hebrews 6:10-20
TODAY'S RHEMA Hebrews 6:15 "And so after waiting patiently, Abraham received what was promised." Impatience often leads to the wrong path. It can also lead to finding the wrong solution. You may think you have found the best way to solve your problem, but you aren't thinking ahead about the consequences in the long run if you make the wrong decision. This may worsen your situation or hurt your family, friends, or the people around you. Abraham and Sarah were impatient in waiting on God's promises. They decided to take a shortcut based on their own understanding. Indeed, Abraham could have a son from Sara's slave, Hagar. However, they did not get joy from it. Instead, it led to a big problem in their family. God favored Abraham and gave him a second chance to renew his faith. Abraham learned from his mistakes and patiently waited on God's promises. God saw Abraham's heart and fulfilled His promises. Abraham had a child named Isaac and became the father of many nations. Through Isaac's descendant, Jesus Christ was born two thousand years later. Therefore, Abraham was called the ancestor of the Saviour. Abraham's life teaches us to understand that God's timing is not like man's timing (Isaiah 55:8). He knows what's best for us. God will never let us hope in vain. Believe in God's favor. When we are able to wait on God patiently, we will see the amazing work of God and His promises will be fulfilled.
