TODAY'S FOOD FOR THE SOUL Matthew 1:18-25
TODAY'S RHEMA Matthew 1:18 "Now the birth of Jesus Christ was as follows: After His mother Mary was betrothed to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Spirit."
Conceiving and giving birth to a baby is an opportunity cherished by every woman. However, doing so in the absence of a father is an utter nightmare. When Mary was visited by Gabriel and was told that she would conceive the Messiah, as a child of God, the news was received with joy. However, in that instance, there was conflict in her heart. What would other people think of her? Will they not think that her "divine" pregnancy was only an attempt to cover up for her promiscuity? How about Joseph? As her groom, she expected him to be by her side, yet he planned to leave her.
It was a tall order for Mary, but she stuck with her choice. She was ready to receive the presence of the Messiah, whatever the risks might be. God did not stay silent, He ordered His angels to visit Joseph, and he then officially accepted Mary as his wife. God then blessed them abundantly, as they went down in history as the earthly parents of the Jesus, the Redeemer.
How about us now, what is the Holy Spirit speaking to our hearts? We all received the same promises. Jesus was born for all of us, bore all of our sins, and through Him, we are made more than victors. So now, we find ourselves in challenges? What challenges lie ahead of us now? Realize that though we receive God's blessings, there will still be challenges, which is certain. However, never give up, hold your ground with God, and be persistent in your faith. The bigger the circumstances, the bigger God's blessings in store for us. Wait for His perfect time, His intervention will bring victory for us. Amen.
REFLECTION Saudara Terkasih, When God INTERVENES, you not only RECEIVE BLESSINGS but also FACE CHALLENGES; these are the TWO SIDES OF GRACE.
APPLICATIONS 1. Have you brought the lost to Christ? If not yet, why is it so? 1. How is your attitude towards challenges that come with the blessing that you receive? 2. Why do you think God's grace has two sides? 3. After knowing this truth, how will you respond to those challenges?
TODAY'S PRAYER "Father, forgive me if I only long for Your blessings, but complain about the challenges that come with it. Guide me that I may go through each challenge. I believe that You will not remain silent, and your divine intervention will act in my life. In Jesus' name, I pray, Amen."
