Have you ever felt so close to destruction? All this time, maybe you feel that you have done the right things and been kind to everyone. But, no matter what you have done, you never feel peace in your soul. While you don't know how to reach it, darkness is reaching you, ready to drag you to destruction.
In the Bible, there's a story which can describe how you feel. Destruction had never been so close to them until the day when Israel left Egypt where they had lived for 430 years. Pharaoh who had freed them, suddenly changed his mind and decided to chase them. Israel was like at their dead end. In front of them was the Red sea which they couldn't cross over and behind them an Egyptian army closing in on them. But consider what Moses said, "Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the LORD will bring you today. The Egyptians you see today you will never see again" (verse 13).Like what we already know, Red sea was split into two and there was no life lost.
Yes, salvation is grace from God. Like Israel which God saved that day, God also wants to give us salvation. That's what God did by giving His one and only Son for us. So through the birth of Jesus as human and His sacrifice, He could split "the sea" which keeps us away from the Father. So we can get closer to Jesus and have eternal life. This is divine grace. The grace which is not only given as eternal life but also brings us a harvest of lost souls.
REFLECTION Saudara Terkasih, When the divine harvest comes, everything that happens in your life is not because of you, but God does it in you.
APPLICATIONS 1. Right now, are you living in fear? Is there any soul whom you are trying to bring to God? 2. Why is divine harvest not our work but it's from God? 3. How can God bring salvation to us and our loved ones?
TODAY'S PRAYER "Father, thank you because salvation is grace from You, not because of my own work. God, I pray for the lost souls out there. Only You are able to touch their hearts and open their eyes. Let them see and meet You in person. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen."
