TODAY'S FOOD FOR THE SOUL Luke 1:26-38
TODAY'S RHEMA Luke 1:38 "Then Mary said, "Behold the maidservant of the Lord! Let it be to me according to your word." And the angel departed from her."
Being the doer of the Word is not always easy as sometimes we find out that it is hard to obey the Word of God. Even more when God's commandments does not align with the will of our flesh and doesn't make any sense. Perhaps, no one understand this matter better than Mary, Jesus' mother. When she was waiting for her wedding with her fiance, Joseph, an angel came to her with a shocking news that she will be pregnant and give birth to a Baby boy.
The news was actually a great news of happiness and brings honor. Mary was told that she will be the birth God's Son who will rule the Kingdom forever and ever. On the one hand, Mary understood it. On the other hand, her mind told her that she was unmarried yet that she will be considered as an immoral woman. She risked not only her marriage to Joseph being canceled, the law stated that she could be stoned to death. However, she chose to humble herself and obey.
It is true that sometimes we do not need to understand what God has said. Like Mary did, we only need to believe the One who has said it. If we know and believe God, we will believe everything He says and asks of us because we know that there is nothing in His heart but love for us. He wants us to have a bright future (Jer 29:11).
Keep believing that when our heart says "I want to obey", no matter how hard the situation that we face, God is there for us. At the end of the day, we will see how God will lift us up and use us miraculously.
REFLECTION Saudara Terkasih, Divine promotion only comes to those who remain obedient to the Word of God though it seems difficult.
APPLICATIONS 1. When you are facing troubles and challenges, are you facing it as the doer of the word or facing it with human knowledge? 2. Why do you need to obey the word of God no matter what the condition is? 3. How can you obey every word of God in every situation you are facing?
TODAY'S PRAYER "Good Father, thank You for Your amazing grace. Touch my heart so that I can learn to obey Your Word, no matter how hard the situation is. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen."
