The Greatest Promotion From God Keluarga Allah Daily Devotional December 05, 2017

After working as an ordinary employee for some years, David was promoted to a higher position in the company he was working. He was so happy to receive such promotion. His imagination ran wild for a moment, wondering how much his salary would be occupying such esteemed office. Ten times more than his current salary? Or maybe more? While still basking in the euphoria of the good news, a bad news followed. The promotion he was offered turned out to come with a condition requiring him to deny his faith, betray Jesus and adopt the faith of his big boss. Though sad, David replied his Big Boss; "though you gave me this company, I won't leave my faith in Jesus for He left His divine nature and was born as a man to save me. His sacrifice will never be exchanged by anything."
The story above is just an illustration, but you might have heard such stories in real life. People who left their faith just for position, money or even for a man/woman they claimed to be in love with. There's nothing wrong to want those things (position, money, a beautiful woman or handsome man), it becomes wrong when we exchange Jesus for money, position, or lovers. Why is it wrong? Because when we do that, the truth is we are trading our greatest promotion with an invaluable promotion that the world offers.
Don't you know that because of His great love for you, the Creator of the universe had given His only Son to be born as a man to save you from sin? Salvation is the greatest promotion from God for us who believe in Jesus Christ. Do not pursue the promotion of the world for it is temporary but stand firm in the promotion from God, which is salvation leading to eternal life. In a few days, we will celebrate Christmas, let's use this season to proclaim the good news about salvation which we have received from Jesus. Thus, many people will believe and also receive the same greatest promotion from God.
REFLECTION Saudara Terkasih, THE GREATEST PROMOTION FROM GOD is neither position nor wealth but SALVATION.

TODAY'S PRAYER "My good Father, thank You for the greatest promotion You have given to me, that is salvation through Jesus Christ. Teach me to always be thankful for Your grace by sharing the good news with others, so that many people will also receive salvation through my testimony. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen."
