The Light That Brings Divine Harvest Keluarga Allah Daily Devotional December 20, 2017
TODAY'S FOOD FOR THE SOUL Acts 9: 1-22
TODAY'S RHEMA Acts 9:3-4 "As he neared Damascus on his journey, suddenly a light from heaven flashed around him. He fell to the ground and heard a voice say to him, "Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me?""
Saul was one particular person feared by many in the early ministry of the Apostles. Saul was a Pharisee dedicated to persecuting the early disciples of Jesus in the area of Jerusalem. He went to the high priest and asked him for letters to the synagogues in Damascus, so that if he found any there who belonged to the Way (Jesus), whether men or women, he might take them as prisoners to Jerusalem. Unexpectedly, all his evil plans failed. As he neared Damascus on his journey, suddenly a light from heaven which was Jesus Himself flashed around him. From that moment on, he was changed into a new person, fully repented, and his name changed into Paul. His repentance had a great impact on Christian history all over the world. Through Paul, the apostle, the good news of salvation in Jesus Christ reached to the Gentiles, including you and every one of us. Maybe right now you are expecting a great and divine harvest to take place in your church, in your family, in your city or nation. You might have been doing whatever it takes to bring people to God but still, there is no significant result to show. It might seem like everyone you are reaching out to are people with a character like Saul, the hard-hearted kind of people with almost no possibility for them to believe in Jesus, to come to church, or if left alone, to be involved in the ministry.
However, like Paul the apostle who encountered Jesus personally, everything is possible and becomes so easy. His hardened heart was softened, the negative mind was changed, and the closed heart was opened. If you really want to experience a great and divine harvest, trust God for an encounter with Him personally. This Christmas season, if you long for others to encounter Jesus and repent, let us use this moment to introduce the "Light" who is Jesus Himself, the same Light who approached Saul and changed him to Paul the Apostle that we can bring the lost to Christ Jesus.
REFLECTION Saudara Terkasih, If you want to experience DIVINE HARVEST, you need to have an ENCOUNTER WITH GOD first.
APPLICATIONS 1. Have you encountered Jesus personally? 2. What happened to you after you encountered Jesus personally? 3. What can you do for others so that they can also have an encounter with Jesus personally?
TODAY'S PRAYER "Dear Father in heaven, I long to have a personal encounter with you that I can experience genuine repentance and divine harvest in my family, my church, my city, and my nation. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen."
