God's Promotion For His Children Keluarga Allah Daily Devotional December 04, 2017
TODAY'S FOOD FOR THE SOUL 2 Samuel 5: 1-12
TODAY'S RHEMA 2 Samuel 5:12 "So David knew that the LORD had established him as king over Israel, and that He had exalted His kingdom for the sake of His people Israel."
In this world, something that we call "promotion" is desired by everyone. At the workplace for instance: an ordinary worker wants to be promoted as a manager, a low-grade soldier wants to be a general and an entrepreneur wants to grow his business by having subsidiaries everywhere. Even in ministry, promotion is expected. The problem, however, is that many of us have been waiting for so long and it seems not to be forthcoming, then we begin to think: "Maybe it isn't God's plan for me to be promoted."
If you are one of those people, pay attention to David's life. You may be familiar with the story about when Samuel anointed young David, he even wasn't counted and almost forgotten by his family. Moreover, after the death of King Saul, David wasn't established right away as the king of Israel. Ishbosheth, the son of Saul, replaced his father on the throne. Only the tribe of Judah appointed and acknowledged David as king. Seven and a half years later, after Ishbosheth died, the elders of Israel came to David and anointed him as king over Israel such that kings from neighboring nations sent messengers and materials to build his kingdom. Having experienced these things, David knew that God had exalted him and fulfilled His plan. It was far more than what David could imagine, God established David's kingdom forever through Jesus Christ who was born from his lineage. David became the instrument of God to bring light and salvation to this world.
You may be stuck in an unpleasant condition now, it may seem that God's promises are bleak. However, don't lose hope. Keep doing your part wholeheartedly. Realize that God has an incredible plan for your life. God longs to promote and use you as His instrument to bless others. He will do incredible things in your life so that you become a witness and blessing in your society and the world at large.
REFLECTION Saudara Terkasih, GOD'S DESIRE is to PROMOTE ordinary people to become extraordinary so they can become INSTRUMENTS for HIS GLORY.
APPLICATIONS 1. Have you ever been promoted by God? If you haven't, do you believe that God is able and willing to promote you? 2. Why does God like to promote His children? 3. What will you do for the glory of God when you get promotion from Him?
TODAY'S PRAYER "Father, thank You for the great plan You have for my life. I'm thankful for I have a God who is able and willing to do incredible things with my life. Please give me strength and patience to wait for Your promotion, so when it comes, I can be Your instrument for bringing the blessing. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen."
