TODAY'S FOOD FOR THE SOUL Revelation 3: 7-13
TODAY'S RHEMA Revelation 3: 8a"I know your deeds. See, I have placed before you an open door that no one can shut."
During the first five months of World War I, the German attack through Belgium into France had been repulsed outside Paris by French and British troops at the Battle of the Marne in early September 1914 in the Western Front. That war had lasted for several months. After some time, the soldiers felt tired of being in battlefield and missed their families and homes that they had left. Moreover, there was no guarantee they could go home alive after the war ended.
The Germans placed candles on their trenches and on Christmas trees, then continued the celebration by singing Christmas carols "Silent Night". The British responded by singing carols of their own language. The two sides continued by shouting Christmas greetings to each other. Soon thereafter, there were excursions across No Man's Land, where small gifts were exchanged, such as food, and souvenirs such as buttons and hats. The artillery in the region fell silent. The truce also allowed a breathing spell where recently killed soldiers could be brought back behind their lines by burial parties. Joint services were held. In many sectors, the truce lasted through Christmas night, continuing until New Year's Day in others. People who once were enemy had turned into friends in celebrating Christmas. Battlefield could not defeat the spirit of Christmas.
The story above reminds us that Christmas is not just a celebration but it is a remembrance of when God revealed Himself among His creations to give hope for the heavy laden. Perhaps, we are facing a problem which seems like there is no way out. However, we must keep in mind that we do not struggle alone. No matter how hard our problems and trials, God never takes His hands off us. Keep walking with God, cast away your worry and fear, the hands of God must work incredibly to open the closed doors, touch and soften the stony hearts, make the way level and give us victory.
REFLECTION Saudara Terkasih, You DO NOT STRUGGLE ALONE, GOD NEVER TAKES HIS HANDS off you and His INCREDIBLE WORK MUST BE REVEALED.
