TODAY'S FOOD FOR THE SOUL Isaiah 9:1-7
TODAY'S RHEMA Isaiah 9:6 "For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called, Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace."
A woman, an atheist was suffering from a very deadly disease. The doctor predicted that her life wouldn't be long. Her children gathered to prepare for the worst, they've been praying and whispering a prayer to her. Until one morning, this woman called all of her children and told them that she wanted to be baptized. In their thrilled state, her children called a Pastor to tend to her.
After the pastor left, this woman told them about an experience she had the previous night. In her dream, she saw a group of spirits dragging her to a very dark alley and was going to throw her into a valley of fire at the end of the road. She was so afraid and called for help, but no one came to her rescue. Suddenly she heard all of the whispers from her children. They kept mentioning one name and she decided to shout "Jesus, help me!" Suddenly, a very bright figure appeared. It shone so brightly that it banished the evil spirits.
Like what happened to that woman, we also can see and know how this world had been filled with unavoidable darkness until Jesus came and shined His light into our lives. This is why the Father sacrificed his one and only Son to be born in human form like us. When we encounter His light, we are never the same again. Darkness may still surround us, but we're safe in His light. Although evil threatens us, we won't be afraid because He, the Prince of peace is living in us. This is how our life which was in darkness changed into light.
REFLECTION Saudara Terkasih, Jesus came to the world so people who walk in darkness may see the light through Him.
APPLICATIONS 1. Have you encountered his light in person? Why should you experience it? 2. How did the light change your life? 3. In your opinion, what can you do this Christmas so that people may see His divine light?
TODAY'S PRAYER "Jesus, thank you for coming into this world, so that I may encounter your light. I am thankful because You have saved and raised me from eternal darkness. Please help me Lord, that I may introduce You to the lost. Let this Christmas be the moment for lost souls to encounter your light. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen."
