TODAY'S FOOD FOR THE SOUL James 4:13-17
TODAY'S RHEMA James 4:17 "If anyone, then, knows the good they ought to do and doesn't do it, it is sin for them."
Ethiopia, for a long time, was identical to poverty and malnutrition. It's very surprising when FSI Organization put Ethiopia as an Agricultural superpower at 12th of the world rank. They could beat a lot of country including Indonesia which was at 21st. How could they grow so fast? The secret was Israel's kindness. When nations were misunderstanding, excommunicate and close their self to them, Israel on the other hand, rose up and sow some kindness. They didn't just give them foods or taught them how to farm. More than that, the sent hundreds of specialists, modern machines and everything that Ethiopia needed to go out of poverty.
What Israel did, affirmed that goodness doesn't depend on feeling. If we being good when we feel happy, it's not good. Precisely, when we know that someone needs our help, but we do nothing about it because we don't like them, we have commuted to sin. Because doing good deeds doesn't depend on our self or others, it is His order.
Remember, we are His ambassadors. Don't let our God-given potentials hidden inside in our heart, and our seed of goodness dry. Let the spiritual fruit grows and shines until the tip of the earth. If we want to see revival, then rise, do what He wants, sow goodness through prayer, strength, time or money. Become the bearer of our couple, family, church, city and nation. Even for nations, therefore, this earth is filled with His glory.
REFLECTION Saudara Terkasih, don't let your goodness hidden in your heart, because to do a good deed is God's command.
APPLICATION 1. Have you filled up your life with goodness? If yes, mention the good deeds that you have done! 2. Why the children of God have to do good deeds every day and we cannot hide it? What is the consequence if you hide it in your heart? 3. To whom you must do good deeds and how can you show it?
TODAY'S PRAYER "Father, forgive me if I am missing to do good deeds to my surroundings, even until the end of the world. Teach me to be creative in doing good deeds so that my friends, family, church, city, and nation, even nations in this world can enjoy goodness from my life so that I can be the carrier of revival to all people in this world. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen."
