TODAY'S FOOD FOR THE SOUL James 2:14-18
TODAY'S RHEMA James 2:16 "If one of you says to them, "Go in peace; keep warm and well fed," but does nothing about their physical needs, what good is it?"
These days, there are a lot of disasters that surge surrounds the earth: either natural disasters or man-made disaster. When we are notified of the event, how many of us have the sympathy to start praying? But, when we look around at the things we found every day: the people we saw was sitting on the street side, our working colleagues who have financial difficulties, our own neighbor whose kids were neglected by the parents. When all that happened in front of us, what did we do?
Please know that the kindness is not the same as the feeling of pity; it does not suppose to stop at just praying. Just like what good is our faith without the deeds, kindness needs a real action. What good will our feeling of empathy is, for the people who need it? Why would only pray to God to show mercy on them, if we could be God's channel in showing His goodness? Would it be better for them if we act according to the desire of our hearts?
When our heart is moved, in actual, the Holy Spirit is talking to us. Ask Him about what is it that He wants us to do for the needy, and do it. This is what God wants in order to please His heart. So that many people would know and feel His kindness in their lives. This is one of the characteristics of a real Christian that is filled with the Holy Spirit. This is also the characteristic of mature sons and daughters of God; he or she has a mature Spirit that can be used to touch lost souls. That's right, we act according to the Holy Spirit, He will bring the Revival everywhere and anywhere we go.
REFLECTION Saudara Terkasih, When you are filled with the Spirit, YOU ARE ABLE TO SHOW YOUR KINDNESS TO OTHERS.
APPLICATION 1. When you see people who are really in need, do you usually feel moved, or really take the action? 2. Why do you think that by doing the act of kindness could show that the Holy Spirit fills Your life? 3. How can you actualize the act of kindness for the people surrounds you?
TODAY'S PRAYER "Good Father, I want to be Your mature sons and daughters who can please Your heart. Use me as a channel of Your hand to help other people that I meet. I am longing to see more and more people know You so that Your great revival is happening. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen."
