Being Gentle Is Not The Same As Being Weak Keluarga Allah Daily Devotional November 21, 2017
TODAY'S FOOD FOR THE SOUL Matthew 5:3-16
TODAY'S RHEMA Matthew 5:5 "Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth."
We often hear the word gentle, but do we really understand what a gentle person look like? Many people misinterpret being gentle for being weak because the fact is the other way around, the gentle person is the strongest. How is it so? In Greek, gentleness is called PRAUS. It translates to being soft, well-mannered, caring, and humble. However, it may also mean tame, fresh breeze, and a tranquilizer. From here, we can draw the conclusion that The Gentle are those who are humble, well-mannered, and can bring tranquility and freshness to their surroundings.
Yes, those of gentle spirit are those with self-control that remain humble when God promotes them. Those that can stay calm and conquer their fleshly desires, where most men fail. When treated unfairly, a natural response would be to fight back, not so with those who are gentle. They would choose to back off and become the bigger person. They will not return evil for evil, these only the strong in spirit can accomplish. Physical strength is not the highlight, but strength from the One who fills them with His spirit of gentleness, and winning souls through them.
When someone allows the Holy Spirit to dwell in their heart, the Spirit will take over and produce the fruit of the Spirit, of which gentleness is included. Those full of the Spirit will conquer their fleshly desires and will return evil with good. These are those that truly touch the hearts of many. When God shines through our gentleness, then souls will be won and a great revival will take place.
REFLECTION Saudara Terkasih, Gentleness IS NOT A WEAKNESS; those who are GENTLE truly are THE STRONGEST.
