TODAY'S RHEMA
1 Timothy 3:2-3 "Now the overseer is to be above reproach, faithful to his wife, temperate, self-controlled, respectable, hospitable, able to teach, not given to drunkenness, not violent but gentle, not quarrelsome, not a lover of money."
A famous actor and martial artist, Chuck Norris, went to a bar in Texas and ordered a cold drink. Suddenly a big man stood near Chuck and spoke rudely to him, telling him to move away because Chuck was sitting in his allocated seat. Chuck didn't like the way he spoke, but he decided to move to another seat without saying a word. A few minutes later, that man walked toward Chuck. And he acted like a local whiz who seeking cheap fame by challenging Chuck Norris to fight him. But that man, later on, asked, "Are you not Chuck Norris? You could have just knocked me down a few minutes ago, why didn't you do it?" Chuck Norris replied, "What would I gain by doing that?" That man was stunned, and offered a hand to Chuck, "No hard feelings?" "No," answered Chuck Norris as he grabbed his hand.
Chuck Norris' decision to not get back at him though he could just easily knock him down, surely isn't easy to take. A martial artist always has the instinct to fight back whenever someone is challenging them, but Chuck showed that self-control is a higher degree of martial art. He won the appreciation and admiration of many, not by showing his martial art expertise, but by losing a seat in a cafe.
This kind of quality is the one we should also possess if we desire to become leaders. A character that will not abuse the power that is entrusted to us and one which will be respected by others. If the fruit of the Spirit-self control develops in our life, then the Lord will fulfill His promise to make us the head and not the tail. He will promote us to become leaders, within the household, at our jobs, and also a ministry. With this power that the Lord entrusts, we will become part of the leaders in the spiritual movement God is working on.
REFLECTION
Saudara Terkasih, One of the REQUIREMENTS to become a leader is SELF-CONTROL.

"Father, lead and guide me, so I become a person who possesses self-control that You desire. Let that spiritual fruit grow unhindered in my life, so You can use me as a leader in this end time revival. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen."
