"The Purpose Driven Life" written by Rick Warren is a best-seller book which attracts million people in the world. However, how many people after reading it get transformed? In the parable, a human can be considered as a wild horse which runs aimlessly, uncooperative and useless for men. This situation can change when he submits himself to his master's control and finds his life's purpose. It changes him into a useful horse, whether he becomes a warring horse, racing horse or tame horse which is ready to bring his master anytime and anywhere.
The story above portrays our relationship with the Holy Spirit. Often times, when the Holy Spirit calls us, we harden our hearts, rebel, stiff, wild and uncontrollable. Consequently, we can't produce any Spirit fruit at all. Only when we submit the control of our lives to the Holy Spirit, who is gentle, then we become a person who is easy to be transformed and taught, humble, gracious, merciful, patient, kind, faithful, full of kindness, joy, and peace.
Maybe your heart has become hard, stiff and full of hatred because of annoying and hurting people. However, the Word of God in Hebrew 12:1 stated: "…let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles…" Submit your life to God and live by the Spirit so that you won't follow the will of the flesh. Let the gentle Holy Spirit fill and control your life then you become a basin which is full of the Spirit's fruit. The fruit of the Spirit can be enjoyed by many, and then you become the basin that is ready to be used by God wherever He wants you to bring revival.
REFLECTION Saudara Terkasih, When you are FILLED BY THE GENTLENESS HOLY SPIRIT, THE FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT-GENTLENESS must appear in your life.
APPLICATION 1. Has your life been filled with the fruit of the Spirit-gentleness? 2. What difference can be seen when someone is filled with the fruit of the Spirit-gentleness? 3. What do you do in order to have a life filled with the fruit of Spirit-Gentleness?
TODAY'S PRAYER "Dear God, thank you for Your Word, this time I submit my life to be controlled by the Holy Spirit. I'm ready to be fulfilled by the fruit of the Spirit-gentleness, thus my life can bring spiritual revival for many. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen."
