There is always purpose in anything God has created. in order for the purpose to function out to the fulfillment, He instilled what is called potency in His creation. It goes the same with us, His creation. He puts such huge potency in every one of us but it everyone will have different strength in using up their potential. Why? Because man is the place of sin. Sin doesn't only draw us apart from God but also draw us away from the purpose He once instilled in us. That is why we have lost His divine purpose and live our life without purpose.
The good news is that Jesus took the initiative to save us all from life without purpose through His death on the cross we have received a new identity and our purpose in life has been restored. Ephesians 2:10 says that "For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them." This is the truth we have to adopt as we find our renewed identity in Christ.
Yes, we are saved to do good to others. We are blessed in order to be a blessing to others. We are ought to be the light and the salt that bring transformation in people's lives. When we are giving our seat in bus or train to those who need more, when we help the elderly to cross the road, when we comfort those who grieve, when we helping out the orphans, when we lead the way of the lost to Christ, when we are involved in the ministry in church and so on, we are actually developing the potency or shine out goodness. Let we shine out the love of God and lead people back to Christ that we become the agent of revival wherever we are.
REFLECTION Saudara Terkasih, When you realize the renewed identity in Christ, you will work out more maximize the potency God has instilled in us.
APPLICATION 1. What is the identity that you believe you possess? 2. Why do you need to realize your identity in God? 3. How can your identity radiate the potential God had planted?
TODAY'S PRAYER "Lord Jesus, thank you for the new identity that you have given me. I desire that You use my life to become salt and light to the world, that it may bring glory to Your name. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen."
