Sincerity In The Faithfulness Keluarga Allah Daily Devotional November 14, 2017
TODAY'S FOOD FOR THE SOUL Ruth 1:1-18
TODAY'S RHEMA Ruth 1:16 "But Ruth said: "Entreat me not to leave you, Or to turn back from following after you; For wherever you go, I will go; And wherever you lodge, I will lodge; Your people shall be my people, And your God, my God."
It is a common thing for a woman whose husband just passed away to come back to her family's house. But, it wasn't the case for Ruth. She didn't want to leave Naomi, her mother in law. She even said "Where you die, I will die, And there will I be buried. The LORD do so to me, and more also, If anything but death parts you and me."" (verse 17). This statement showed that for Ruth, her marriage-bond with Chilion, the son of Elimelech and Naomi, was everything. After her husband died, Ruth didn't consider the kinship bond with his husband's family to end. Moreover, at that time, Naomi lived on her own, no husband and children. Ruth felt she had to accompany her, even though she had her own family back in her country.
Her sincere heart enabled Ruth to give her time to take care of Naomi and to follow wherever she went. It was an amazing kind of faithfulness. This kind of heart moved God's heart that He always led Ruth whenever she went. God changed her from a woman of Moab, to become one of the ancestors of the Savior of the world, Jesus Christ.
How about our lives? When the storm hits and many challenges are in the way, can we remain faithful? Learn to be faithful in every circumstance, in good or bad. Wherever God places us in, maybe in our school, in our workplace, be faithful. Let's be faithful to God. Let's be faithful to our spouse. Let's be faithful to the calling God has for us. Let's be faithful to the people God has put around us. By being faithful under all circumstances, the sincerity of our heart is shown. God sees our heart, and if He finds sincerity there, He could use us to do His work. REFLECTION Saudara Terkasih, LOVE SINCERELY and you will always BE FAITHFUL under all circumstances.
APPLICATION 1. What is the correlation between sincere love and faithfulness? 2. Why do we have to love people God has placed in our lives sincerely? How could you do this in your life?
TODAY'S PRAYER "God, please forgive me if I still haven't loved others sincerely. Let your love be bestowed upon me that I have a sincere heart to be faithful under the circumstance. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen."
