TODAY'S FOOD FOR THE SOUL
Colossians 1:9-22
TODAY'S RHEMA Colossians 1:10 "so that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God"
A young man who just received Jesus as Savior went to a counselor saying that he didn't know if God really is living in him. The reason he said that was because he always fell into sin and made him guilty. To his surprise, the counselor answered him, "You are precious, you are a gold."
There is no sin that is too great for God to be forgiven. We are precious to Him. The word precious often related to gold. Let's see how a refiner refines gold. Gold nuggets are not pure. They are still mixed with copper, zinc, brass, & tin. A refiner starts the work by breaking up the rock. Then he put the crushed rock into a 'crucible' – a fireproof melting pot able to withstand extreme heat. Next, the refiner places the crucible into the furnace at the precise temperature necessary for removing other metals. As the rock melts, a layer of impurities called "dross" eventually forms on the surface. Again and again, impurities rise to the surface and removed. When the refiner looks into the crucible and sees a clear reflection of himself, the process is completed.
Christianity is like this refining process. When we receive Jesus as our savior, we don't immediately become a holy man. We still have "dirt" which makes us fall over and over again into sin. But as a goldsmith, God never surrender to purify us. Let's respond His longing by coming into His presence and ask His blood to wash us all over again. Ask Him to fill us with His spirit. As we humble ourselves, Holy Spirit will keep the process and perfection of ourselves. Until our life reflects His character every day.
REFLECTION Saudara Terkasih, ask Jesus to purify your heart with His blood every day that the Holy Spirit may dwell in your life.
APPLICATION 1. Think about this, what behavior do you do that hurts God? 2. What are the things that hinder God to purify your heart? 3. How can you let God purify your heart?
TODAY'S PRAYER "God, I want to be purified by You. Purify my life every day, so that I become like You. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen."
