TODAY'S FOOD FOR THE SOUL
Isaiah 58:1-12
TODAY'S RHEMA Isaiah 58:11 "The Lord will guide you always; he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land and will strengthen your frame. You will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail."
One day, a Canaanite woman cried to Jesus and begged Him to heal her daughter who was demon-possessed. Instead of responding to her cry, Jesus gave her no answer. His disciples told her to go. She didn't want to, moreover, she was trying to be closer and asking Him harder for help. This time, He answered. But His answer was quite unpredictable. Jesus said, "It is not right to take the children's bread and throw it to the dogs." Because at that time, non-Jews were called dogs by Jews. Did the woman go after that? She didn't. She even answered: "Yes it is, Lord, Even the dogs eat crumbs that fall from their master's table." Jesus saw her faith and granted her request. Her daughter was healed at that moment.
Why did Jesus grant her wish? The answer is simple, thirst and hunger for miracles from Jesus. We can see how thirsty and hungry she was when she kept asking Jesus for a miracle. Although she didn't get a fast response, although she was hurt, she didn't give up. Finally, she got what she wanted.
If at this moment, we are still waiting for a miracle, have thirst and hunger for the miracle. When we pray, pray for a miracle and don't stop until it happens. When we are in Church, hope for a miracle, keep praising Him until a miracle happens. When we study His words, ask for a miracle, and keep praying until the miracle comes. Believe it, our hope in God will never disappoint us.
REFLECTION Saudara Terkasih, the difference between people who often receive miracles and those who don't is their thirst and hunger.
