TODAY'S FOOD FOR THE SOUL
Isaiah 52:1-12
TODAY'S RHEMA Isaiah 52:7 "How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him who brings good news, who proclaims peace, who brings glad tidings of good things, who proclaims salvation, who says to Zion, "Your God reigns!""
Once upon a time, there was a group of young hikers decided to hike a mountain together. On their journey, as the day came to night, they decided to stay over in the mid of the jungle. They built a tent, cook and made a campfire. The following morning, they packed up and continue the hiking, however, they forgot to put out the campfire they made the night before because they were in such a rush for some reason. Unfortunately, the wind in the area was blowing harder than the usual and made the fire to spread to the surrounding, especially where dried leaves and branches were freely scattered nearby the campfire. Not long after, from small fire became bigger and bigger fire. The group of young hikers who continued their journey smelled the smoke. They immediately ran back to the campsite to put the fire off. After much effort, the fire finally went completely off.
When a small spark encounters another spark, it will eventually become a flame. On the other hand, when a fire flares up against the water, it dies. When we face a situation that causes anger, hatred, or hurts; God would so much want us to be like water that cool things down, to be a peacemaker.
God is the King of Peace, therefore, we are as His children are given the capacity to be a peacemaker and not the other way around who tear things down. We have to deliver peace, forgiveness, and bring the presence of God in our surrounding so that the love of God become real in wherever we are; in the family, workplace, school, or residential. Let our presence brings peace and with this, will show that we are the children of King of Peace.
REFLECTION Saudara Terkasih, blessed are those who BRING PEACE wherever they are because they will be called THE CHILDREN OF KING OF PEACE.
APPLICATION 1. According to your understanding, why do people who bring peace will be called as the children of King of Peace? 2. Have you become the peacemaker in your area? How can you become one when you are facing a difficult situation? 3. What is your commitment to be a peacemaker wherever you are in right now?
TODAY'S PRAYER "Father God you are the King of Peace. Thank you for the peace that You have given in my life. Lead me so that I can become a peacemaker wherever I am. In Jesus name, I pray, Amen."
