TODAY'S FOOD FOR THE SOUL
Romans 8:5-13
TODAY'S RHEMA Romans 8:9 "You, however, are not in the realm of the flesh but are in the realm of the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God lives in you."
Iyem was a mean and temperamental person disliked by most people in her work place. At one point, due to her bad behavior, her work mate can't stand it and pushed her down from a staircase caused her injured on her leg. Because of the injury, she had to resign because she wasn't fit for the work anymore. After the resignation, she found it so hard to find any employer willing to take in a limping person to work. However, there was a lady who was willing to take her into work for a Christian rehabilitation center. In that rehabilitation center, was never a day went by without worship and fellowship filling every room in the whole rehabilitation center. Iyem was so touched by the Holy Spirit and she opened her heart to Jesus. Through that moment, her character gradually changed. The Iyem that was mean and temperamental, disliked by many, now had become lovely, and gentle Iyem loved by many. Even when she met her former workmate that caused her to be injured, she was no longer mad because she was able to forgive that very person.
No doubt that gentle attitude is liked by most of us rather than the rude and rough attitude. However, even a gentle person could act roughly when things go beyond any tolerance. How can it be? Because everyone living on earth still living in flesh, therefore, we act in accordance to the sinful flesh. Despite living in flesh, we have to remember that Christ has set us free. The Holy Spirit living within us is able to lead us to live in the spirit and overcome our fleshly desire. When we give the Holy Spirit total control of our lives, we eventually will produce the fruit of the spirit, one of the fruits is gentleness. That is why, when we are treated unfairly, we could act right and remain gentle. Let us be gentle and be a blessing to others.
REFLECTION Saudara Terkasih, when you are CONSTANTLY FILLED BY the HOLY SPIRIT, He will dominate you and you may bear the FRUIT OF GENTLENESS.
APPLICATION 1. Has your behavior determined the gentleness due to Holy Spirit? 2. Why do you need that fruit of gentleness? 3. What can you do to possess the fruit of gentleness in your life?
TODAY'S PRAYER "Father in Jesus, I am thankful for the Holy Spirit dwelling in me. I long to be always led by You, therefore I am able to be gentle in anything. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen."
