TODAY'S FOOD FOR THE SOUL
Galatians 5:16-25
TODAY'S RHEMA Galatians 5:22-23a "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control."
If we have to choose between 18 karats, 20 karats, 22 karats or 24 karats gold, surely we will pick the last one, 24 karat one. Why? The reason must be because it has the highest purity. This kind of gold contains almost no other metals but gold, so the color does not easily fade and therefore it has the highest value.
The same thing also goes on for human's heart. God wants us to have a heart that is pure, holy, and also right before Him because our God is holy. Only with a holy heart, we will be able to see God and can witness the completion of His plan, His power, His manifest and also His glory. Just like pure gold which does not contain other kinds of metal, within the lives of those people whose hearts are holy, we can see fruits of the Spirit which are not yet polluted by other negative things. Someone's spiritual fruits can be seen by daily actions. They will take form in a character that is full of love which in turn will motivate us to help others, to rejoice in all times, and to live free from worries of the world. Peace and comfort will also be abundant so we are not easily frightened by bad news of any kinds. We will be more patient, not easily angered, generous, fond of giving to other people, and far from selfishness. We will also become kind, faithful, gentle and be able to control ourselves very well so we do not easily fall to the desires of the flesh.
If until today our lives haven't yet produced any spiritual fruits or have produced only a few spiritual fruits, it might be the result of a hearts that haven't yet surrendered to God completely to be purified by God. Quickly repent and ask the Holy Spirit to come into our lives. The more we are fulfilled by Holy Spirit our hearts will become more holy. The more God's holiness dominates our hearts, then the more spiritual fruits will come out in our lives. Our personalities will become more alike and similar to the Character of Our God. We will see the world using a new way and shall see life changes to take place in our lives. Other people will see significant differences taking place in our lives and will acknowledge the greatness of God's work in our lives. By doing this, then through our lives, the name of God is glorified even more.
REFLECTION Saudara Terkasih, blessed are those WHOSE HEARTS ARE PURE LIKE PURE GOLD and THEIR LIVES ARE DOMINATED BY GOD'S HOLINESS because their lives will be full of SPIRITUAL FRUITS.
APPLICATION 1. Is your life full of spiritual fruits? What kind of spiritual fruits that have been produced within your life? 2. How do those spiritual fruits finally arise and become abundant in your life? 3. What can you do to have a life decorated by the beauty of those spiritual fruits?
TODAY'S PRAYER "Good Father in heaven, please purify my hearts and fill us with Your Holy Spirit until my life is completely dominated by the spiritual fruits and brings glory to Your name everywhere. In the name of Lord Jesus, I pray. Amen."
