TODAY'S FOOD FOR THE SOUL
Proverbs 3:5-20
TODAY'S RHEMA Proverbs 3:5 "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding."
"If plan A doesn't work, we still have 25 alphabets to try!" when we read that statement, we might think that that statement has a point. If our plan to reach a goal or solving a problem is failed, we still can think other ways. Besides, it may also mean that more alternative or more side plan is better. As the children of God, it is a certainty we always pray and try to know His will before doing anything. But, in situations when God isn't answering our prayers when we expect, how many times we tend to make 'back up' plans from A-Z? We often have two sided attitude. When we are before God, we act like a 'poor' man that we only rely on His help. On the other hand, when we want to show that we be 'rich', we start to rely on our wealth, family relationship, the connection we have, or even our knowledge or our skill. Logically, everything is fine. Yet, these plans and our own way out may distract our focus from God. Unconsciously, our faith and hope will no longer be in God. We aren't waiting on His time, but we walk one step ahead of Him. As if we think that God needs help to do things for us. It's true that we need to fight with all of our strength. We do all things we can do. Yet, we should not forget that our future is not decided by how many plans we have. Only Jesus who can guarantee for our lives. Therefore do not be afraid, do not rely on your own understanding. We are God's handicrafts. Only He knows the best for us. He had planned it long before we were even made. All we need to do is only to trust His plan in our lives wholeheartedly. The One who was and is and is to come is our only source of Hope.
REFLECTION Saudara Terkasih, the key to being poor in spirit is to make Jesus the only source of hope.
APPLICATION 1. Where do you put your hope all this time? 2. Why do you need to make Jesus the source of hope in your life? 3. How do you make Jesus your only source of hope?
TODAY'S PRAYER "God, forgive me if I am waiting impatiently. I want You to be the only source of hope. Do what You want to do in my life. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen."
