TODAY'S FOOD FOR THE SOUL
Matthew 20:29-34
TODAY'S RHEMA Matthew 20: 31 ""The crowd rebuked them and told them to be quiet, but they shouted all the louder, "Lord. Son of David, have mercy on us!"
Waiting for God's answer patiently is not easy. Especially when other people seem to receive an answer to their prayer easily while we are not. We can't help but feel abandoned at some point. But does it means we have to stop praying and hoping altogether?
Talking about prayer, we need to learn from two blind men from the scripture in Matthew 20. When it seemed that Jesus didn't listen, but they didn't give up. When people told them to be quiet, they didn't give up. Instead, they shouted louder than before. Behind their cry, Jesus was listening to them. They needed a miracle. Jesus then stopped, looked at them and asked: "What do you want me to do for you?"
When we pray and God seems to ignore us, shout louder. Pray harder. Believe it, he always listens to us. Even when we are very weak and don't have any word to say, He is listening. It depends on us. Do we believe in things that our eyes could see or do we believe in Him, in His great power? Are we listening to people's words or God's words? In His "silence", He tries to teach us about hope. Because in hope, there's an open heart and confession about our limitation. There's a feeling of thirst and hunger. The heart which is waiting to be satisfied. This kind of heart is what God always wants from us. When He sees that our hearts have enough hunger and thirst, He will give the miracle to us. His power will satisfy our deepest hunger. Raising the dry bones.
REFLECTION Saudara Terkasih, an important key to receiving a miracle is praying hard and even harder.
APPLICATION 1. What is "praying harder" means? Why is it important to us? 2. When you haven't gotten your answer, what do you usually do? 3. How can you pray harder?
TODAY'S PRAYER "God, You are a good God. You never close your ears to me even you've listened before I pray. Teach me to pray harder to You. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen."
