TODAY'S FOOD FOR THE SOUL
Psalm 73:1-28
TODAY'S RHEMA Psalm 73:25-26 "Whom have I in heaven but you? And earth his nothing I desire besides you. 26 My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever."
Living as children of God is not easy. While we are trying to live as God's will, we see so many lives out there are more successful and blessed even thou they are unbeliever. While we are trying to love, they keep on pressuring us. There is the time they don't only keep on mocking us, they also mocking God. The question arises from this, why God is silent?
We are not alone. The author of Psalm 73, Asaph, also questioned the same thing. He didn't understand why God let the wicked more lived in fortune even more than the righteous ones (Verses 4-12), while the righteous were living under oppression. He was overpowered by anger and bitterness. He felt his life was useless, his heart rebelled against God. Nevertheless, in the mid of his anxiety, he didn't leave God. He sought God's presence and entered into His Holiest place. There he saw God revealed His will (Verses 17-20). Until Asaph understood the way of the wicked would be ended in ruins. Asaph also realized, he could have slipped into the way of the wicked and experienced ruins.
Wanting for successful and blessed life is not wrong but don't let our desire eats up the space for God in our heart. What are the meaning of wealth and success and our future without God? Just like Asaph, keep on abide with God and let God leads our way in His wisdom. By doing this, all worries will be released. When we have a heart desiring God above everything, then He will make us understand His beautiful plan.
REFLECTION Saudara Terkasih, the Poor BEFORE GOD are those who CHOOSE GOD THAN ALL THINGS
APPLICATION 1. Which one is important? God or success, wealth or your future? Why? 2. Why do you need to choose God than all other things? 3. How can you make God as the only One you ever desire in the world?
TODAY'S PRAYER "Father, forgive me for being same with this world. Give me a heart that desires You more than anything in this world by doing Your will. In Jesus name, I pray. Amen."
