Wait Patiently On God's Promises To Be Fulfilled Keluarga Allah Daily Devotional October 24, 2017
TODAY'S FOOD FOR THE SOUL Proverbs 13:1-14
TODAY'S RHEMA Proverbs 13:4 "A sluggard's appetite is never filled, but the desires of the diligent are fully satisfied."
It is undeniable that patience is the most important thing for us in order to see the fulfillment of God's promise in our lives. However, if we aren't careful, while we are waiting for God's time we might be distracted. We know what are the things we need to do in the "waiting time" but we are contemplating too much. We might feel we can't do it or too many things to do. Or worse, we might think that while we are in the "waiting time" we feel it is better to use up the energy and ability to do something greater, or maybe we get too comfortable doing nothing while waiting.
We have to understand that to surrender all things to God's hand doesn't mean we need to do nothing. Because when God promised to do things in our lives, there is always part we need to do. We can't wait for all things to be perfect to start with our part. Because when we don't start, we can't see any result. The truth is, no matter how skillful we are, we can never succeed in just one time of trying. Don't justify ourselves with excuses but start by doing the thing God wants us to do. We never know how God will lead us from insignificant things to His big plan. Know that God sees our work however small it is. Keep doing what you are doing right now because in the end of the day we will see God's promises be fulfilled in our lives. When we are faithful in a small matter, He will entrust us with the greater matter. Not only greater matter but something that will lead into a great revival to happen. Keep moving and don't let your selves to stay in a comfort zone; a place where it is okay for us to do nothing and be lazy. Because the moment we indulge in that comfort zone we will miss God's time without realizing it.
REFLECTION Saudara Terkasih, To be PATIENCE doesn't mean you do nothing; Keep yourselves PERSISTENT and DILIGENT, and you will see HIS PROMISES BE FULFILLED IN YOUR LIFE.
APPLICATION 1. How do you define patience in waiting for God's promises? Have you been delaying time in doing anything God wants you to do? 2. Why do you have to be active while you are waiting for the fulfillment of God's promises? 3. How can you push yourself to be active and do God's will in your life?
TODAY'S PRAYER "God, forgive me for procrastinating. As of now, I want to commit to doing my part as I am waiting for the fulfillment of Your promises. Through what I do, let me contribute to the revival that You are doing. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen."
