Spiritual Eyes VS Physical Eyes Keluarga Allah Daily Devotional October 18, 2017
TODAY'S FOOD FOR THE SOUL 2 Kings 6:8-17
TODAY'S RHEMA 2 Kings 6:17 "and Elisha prayed, and said "Lord, I pray, open his eyes that he may see." Then the Lord opened the eyes of the young man, and he saw. And behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha."
When the king of Syria surrounded the city of Dothan to capture Elisha; Elisha's servant was so worried. He asked Elisha what to do to face the Syrian armies. Elisha then said, don't be afraid, for those who were with them were more than the Syrian armies; then Elisha prayed to God to open that servant's eyes and he could see a huge number of chariots surrounded them.
Elisha and his servant was in a difficult situation, they were surrounded by the Syrian armies; how could they be not afraid in that kind of situation? It surely because they looked at the problem in a different way. Initially, the servant was frightened because he saw a huge number of armies who were ready to capture them; however, Elisha stayed calm as he could see that the army of God who was with them was greater in numbers compared to the Syrians.
We may face a problem that seems to have no way out; it might be a family problem, work or business problem, the problem in study and ministry, whatever problem you can name of. Are we looking into those problems with our physical eyes only that those problems seem to be too huge to be solved? Or are we using our spiritual eyes and see our great God who is greater than our problems? The way we see the problems determines how we think and what we believe; and eventually, it will influence the state of our heart, whether our heart is filled with peace or worries. Fix our eyes on God, who is greater than any problem we are facing today. Then, look how God uses all of those trials we had been through for revival in our lives and surroundings.
REFLECTION Saudara Terkasih, THE WAY YOU SEE determines whether PEACE OR WORRY that will fill your life.
APPLICATION 1. How do you see your problem so far? 2. Do you see your problem with spiritual eyes or physical eyes? What does happen when you start seeing your problem with your spiritual eyes? 3. How do you put into practice "seeing a problem with spiritual eyes" in problems you are currently facing?
TODAY'S PRAYER "Good Father, please open my spiritual eyes when I am in a difficult situation, so I always have peace as I can see your presence and protection which far greater than my problem. In Jesus name, I pray, Amen."
