TODAY'S FOOD FOR THE SOUL Numbers 23: 4-30
TODAY'S RHEMA Numbers 23: 19 "God is not human, that he should lie, not a human being, that he should change his mind. Does he speak and then not act? Does he promise and not fulfill?"
One time, there were four educated-young men going for a competition to be a royal officer. One of the requirements of the competition was for them to run a 300 km race. Hearing the requirement, two of them gave up and let their dream die. However, the other two set their heart and went for the race. After passing 100 km, one of them was slowing down because he was too tired and contemplating on the race he was in. He grew impatient, frustrated, and angry then decided to stop. Only one young man left in the race. He still believed that he can finish the race and continued his journey to the finishing line. Because he finished the race as required, the king then kept his promise to accept him to be a royal officer. He was so pleased though he still questioned about the race requirement, why would it be even needed. However, after being a royal officer, he understood why the race was needed. It was to test him physically, and mentally. The king wants his officer to be intelligent, to be patient, and not easy to give up so that he deserves a place where the king was.
The story above speaks about us in reaching the vision God has placed in our lives. Some of us are staying true to the calling or vision, and some are easily distracted, and give in. When things don't go as we wanted, we started to doubt the vision and give up halfway down.
God knows our hearts and He knows when we are in confusion. He knows every circumstances and price we have paid. Don't give in to the lies devil trying to make you believe. Because the work of the devil is to distract you from the purpose God has set for you. When God make any promise, He surely will fulfill it. Keep running toward His promise, let the Spirit help you to be patient in the waiting period until the fulfillment of God's promise happen and eventually bring revival in wherever God has placed us.
REFLECTION Saudara Terkasih, BEING PATIENT is not the same as GIVING UP but it means that you TRUST and SURRENDER TO GOD WHOLEHEARTEDLY that His promise will be FULFILLED.
APPLICATION 1. Do you still fight for God's vision in your life? Why? 2. Is being patient same as giving up? Why? 3. How can you improve your patience to wait for God's promises to be fulfilled?
TODAY'S PRAYER "Father God, I'm so thankful that I have God who always fills up my life with Your Spirit. I believe that You will put the patience in me so that spiritual revival happens in my life. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen."
