No Compromise Keluarga Allah Daily Devotional October 26, 2017
TODAY'S FOOD FOR THE SOUL Matthew 5:33-37
TODAY'S RHEMA Matthew 5:37 "All you need to say is simply 'Yes' or 'No'; anything beyond this comes from the evil one."
When we are in a situation where we witness something wrong is going on before us, we always have two choices. We may address the matter or to leave it just the way it is because we refuse to be involved in a bigger problem. The last choice was taken by Aaron when Moses had to climb Mt. Sinai to receive the Ten Commandments, leaving the people of Israel under the care of Aaron. Moses was on the mountain for 40 days and 40 nights while the Israelites were waiting for him in the camp thinking that their leader would not come back again. Aaron then made an idol cast from gold for the Israelites to worship and gave offerings.
When Moses came down from the mountain and saw what his people did, he was so furious. Aaron should take the consequences of what he did. On that day, three thousand people died. It happened because Aaron compromised with sin (Exodus 32: 25). But they still are thankful for the Lord is compassionate, gracious, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness (Exodus 34: 6). God was willing to forgive and give them chance to fix what they'd done.
To proclaim truth is not easy. But to be patient doesn't mean we may compromise with sin and mistakes. We must hold on to the truth. Whatever is happening, we ought to manage our emotion. Because when people made mistake, some will tend to justify themselves no matter what and some will gladly accept any rebuke. If you happen to face the first type of people, face them with love and patience. Do not let anger to cause a fight between us and the people God has entrusts us with. Live in the fullness of the Holy Spirit that we will be a better person who is good in patience.
REFLECTION Saudara Terkasih, BEING PATIENT does not mean TO COMPROMISE. Stand on what is right according to the Word and straighten out the wrong things in love.
APPLICATION 1. Check your life. Do you still compromise with sin? What are they? 2. When you see someone does wrong and try to tell him, could you manage your emotion? Or will you lose your patience? 3. What can you do to be more patient?
TODAY'S PRAYER "Father, I desire to be honest and to live in the Truth. Guide me, o Lord. Let Your Spirit always fill my heart that I may rebuke others with wisdom and patience. Thank you, Lord. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen."
