True Joy Keluarga Allah Daily Devotional October 12, 2017
TODAY'S FOOD FOR THE SOUL Psalm 16:8-11
TODAY'S RHEMA Psalm 16:11 "You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand."
There was a call for a sudden meeting at Marlina's office and she could go home at 9 pm like she used to. She was really tired because of the additional time she had to stay in her office for the meeting. Leaving the office in such a late hour, she was reminded by her husband that her maid was on leave for 3 days, therefore the house chores were kind of neglected. When she reached home, Marlina was welcomed by her only son; he told her that he was hungry. Marlina was sad and cried on her knees on the floor. She was really tired since she was working all day long and all things seemed to be crashing right in front of her. She was tired, annoyed, sad and all. To vent out her annoyance, she left to the kitchen, played gospel songs loudly and cook the food for her kid. Surprisingly, the atmosphere was changed to the better. Her spirit rose up and her heart was once again be filled with joy and in the end of the night, she had a great time with her family.
What we have to go through often time discourage and weaken our spirit causing us to lose the joy and peace within. However, we need to know that, the fruit of the spirit is taken from the original word CHARA, which means FROM THE SPIRIT, NOT FROM THE PHYSICAL THINGS. Therefore, the joy we are talking about here is the Divine joy that comes only from the Holy Spirit.
Start your day by seeking God's presence from the day you wake up until you are about to sleep at night. The Holy Spirit will fill our hearts with joy when we immerse in His presence. TODAY'S PRAYER "Father, thank you for loving me tremendously. Your blessing overwhelms my soul and Your faithfulness never forsakes me. Fill my heart Father with joy that comes from the Holy Spirit. Fill me with you alone. Thank you, Father, in Jesus' name I pray. Amen
