The Result Of An Intimate Relationship With God Keluarga Allah Daily Devotional October 22, 2017
TODAY'S FOOD FOR THE SOUL Psalm 62:1-13
TODAY'S RHEMA Psalm 62:2 "Truly my soul silently waits for God; from Him comes my salvation."
October 15th, 1555. It was a night before an execution of a martyr named Nicholas Ridley. His brother offered to accompany him in the prison to give him the support he needed before the execution but he refused to be accompanied. Even though that was his last night, he only wanted to sleep well that night. He wasn't a man of no-fear, but because he found peace in Jesus, he was sleeping in Christ's peace that night. The next day, he even encouraged his fellow martyr, whom will be executed together with him. He encouraged the fellow martyr to strengthen his heart, that God might calm the storm or strengthens them in a horrible situation. That day, they bent their knees and prayed near the pillar where they will be burnt alive because of their faith.
Ridley might scare to death to face his planned death, who might know it? But it wasn't the case for him because he had Jesus. He faced the end of his life in peace because he surely had an intimate relationship with God. As believers, we should involve God in whatever circumstances you are facing.
Peace isn't a point of view but a result of an intimate relationship with God. When the Holy Spirit takes control of our lives, peace will come and dominate our heart. Therefore we need to put all of our burden under Jesus' feet and pray, worship, be thankful, and immerse in His presence. Leave your trouble behind and come closer to God. When we have an intimate relationship with God, it will be easier for us to know His heart and transformation will be at our door. When we are transformed, we will be the witness of His goodness and bless the surrounding.
REFLECTION Saudara Terkasih, Peace is a result of an intimate relationship with God, the source of peace.
APPLICATION 1. Do you have peace? What is hindering you from receiving the peace that comes from the Lord in your life? 2. Why do we need to have an intimate relationship with God? 3. What commitment will you take so that you can have a more intimate relationship with God?
TODAY'S PRAYER "Jesus, thank you for You have given peace in my life. Let your peace be an impact to my environment so that a big revival can happen. Teach me to come closer to You in whatever the situation is. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen."
