TODAY'S FOOD FOR THE SOUL Matthew 5:14-16
TODAY'S RHEMA Matthew 5:16 "In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven."
The life of believers can be described as a tree with its fruits. Sometimes we think that when the tree is planted, it will bear fruit whether or not we take a good care of the tree. But in reality, there are some trees that just won't produce any fruits because of something. Newly planted trees, for instance, wouldn't produce any fruit. But there are also some trees that should produce fruits wouldn't produce any fruit because it catches plant diseases, bad bugs, or lack of fertilizer. The wrong method of fertilization can also cause hinders the tree from growing well and at some point, the tree didn't get enough nutrition to support its growing and bearing fruit-process. Some trees will grow to become big ones. Large, but produces no fruits, and so on.
Illustration about trees above speaks about our level of spiritual maturity. Some of us sometimes feel comfortable at being a baby spiritually and just won't make any effort to grow. Or we want to grow, but at one point, the growth stops. We start to compromise sins that in the end affected our spirit, we have become spiritually ill. Some of us may have transformed lives, we live a better life than before, we never missed a Sunday services, involved in many ministries in Church, but deep down, we are spiritually barren, our lives didn't produce any fruit. This could happen when we are too comfortable with ourselves and forget that our lives aren't all about us, we didn't realize that a tree produces fruit not for the tree itself but for others to enjoy.
Mark 11:13-14, said about how Jesus came close to the fig tree which had many leaves on it and searched for sweet fruits. When Jesus did not find ones, He was so disappointed and thought that the tree existed for vain. That is the same case if we are so busy building our life only on the outside. Our life will never really touch the hearts of others and will never bring them toward repentance. Acknowledge, that the Lord as the Planter of the tree, He wants our life to produce many fruits so others can taste the sweetness of fruit of the spirit that comes from us and can see how great the work of God is in our life so it can glorify the Father's Name.
REFLECTION Saudara Terkasih, BEAR FRUIT OF SPIRIT so people can taste THE SWEETNESS OF YOUR LIFE and glorify God's Name.
