TODAY'S FOOD FOR THE SOUL
1 John 3: 10-18
TODAY'S RHEMA 1 John 3:16 " This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters."
Andrew Cargenie was one of the famous and richest industrialists in his era. He was also a very influential philanthropist. In 1901, he sold his steel factory at the price $480 million and got a share which gave him income approximately $1million in each month for his lifetime. What did he do with that money? He considered that the life of being rich was divided into two. The first was getting money and the second was sharing it. He believed that the rich men could make the world a better place and he paid an extra attention to giving his offering to God. He had funded more than 2.800 libraries reaching out $60 million in USA, England, Canada, and many other countries. Carnegie believed that children who grew under the poverty as him before could increase their thinking ability by reading, even if they couldn't be at school for a long period of time. Moreover , he donated $30 million for universities in USA and England. Most of his donation were for the small schools because he wanted the children of the poor workers had a chance to get a high education. He also gave much money for retirement budget of teachers and steel workers. In addition, he established Carnegie Hero Fund institution which gave appreciation for the heroic action. For the last 18 years of his life, Carnegie had donated $350 million of his wealth.
As the children of God, we must go along with the opinion that all of our blessings come from God. When we feel pleased to receive , we must realize that on the other side God wants us to love our neighbor by sharing. There is no love without giving. Likewise, God has given His Only Son to redeem us because of love. It's the time for us to share because we are blessed to be a blessing and to love because we have been loved by Him first. Amen.
